Dear hiring manager,

I am pleased to submit my application for the tutor position that was advertised on your website. I am Giselle Levy, a fresh graduate from the University of Calabasas with a degree in B.S. Chemistry. I’m excited to jump start my career in academia through this opportunity.

Your website mentions that the ideal candidate for the position is one who enjoys teaching kids and I look back at my stint working as a tour guide at the Science Museum of Calabasas last summer where I made presentations to museum guests including many kids in various exhibitions as one where I enjoyed working to help kids learn.

My degree in B.S. Chemistry also makes me qualified to teach high school kids about the subject but I am also comfortable teaching them about other science topics such as physics and biology. I’m also confident with my ability to teach kids about math all the way from the basics to the more advanced topics like trigonometry and calculus.

I’ve included my resume to this application for your review. My application also includes recommendation letters from two of my professors who have vouched for my work ethics. You may reach me at (535)555-1239 or through email (Giselle_Levy@email.cc) if you would like to invite me for an interview.

Sincerely,

Giselle Levy

Dear hiring manager,

My name is David M. Velasquez and I am applying for the job of tutor that was advertised on your website. I’ve been a freelance tutor for the past two years and I specialize in teaching Math to children from Elementary to Middle School including the more advanced math topics such as trigonometry and algebra. However, I am also comfortable teaching other subjects if given the proper teaching aides.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about TutorNet and I too believe in its mission to help kids be proficient in their academics. Your job ad mentions that applicants need to have a minimum of 1-year in a similar position and enjoys teaching children so I believe I fit the bill perfectly. I have had several parents send me thank you notes for helping their children get better grades in their subjects and I attribute this all to how much I love the job of tutoring these kids.

I’ve attached my resume for your review to this application. Several parents of my past students have agreed to serve as my references so their contact numbers are also in my resume. I would be delighted to be invited to an interview and you may contact me through (585) 555-1231 or email me through DavidV@email.to any time.

Sincerely,

(Signed)
